Southern Gas Corridor

The Energy Charter Secretariat is pleased to announce that the second meeting in 2016 of the Industry Advisory Panel (IAP) will be held in Baden, Switzerland on 28 June. The meeting will be hosted by AXPO (founding shareholder in Trans Adriatic Pipeline and IAP member). Please find the attached agenda of the meeting and the logistical information related to the meeting venue.

The Southern Gas Corridor is taking shape rapidly and getting closer to bringing Azerbaijani gas to Europe. At the same time, the Southern Gas Corridor plays a crucial role in the European Union, Western Balkans and Turkey’s energy policies. This new route will provide a new source of gas for decades to come and will change the energy landscape in various energy markets.

The main theme of the meeting is:

Private Sector engagement in gas infrastructure in the context of diversification of corridors and sources in Europe: The case of the Southern Gas Corridor

The event will address the latest developments on several separate investment projects which are an integral element of the Southern Gas Corridor. The event will bring together senior industry representatives from the European Union member states, the Mediterranean basin, Asia, Western Balkans and South East Europe as well as representatives from international financial institutions and donors community.

The IAP Baden meeting should offer an invaluable opportunity to discuss how the Southern Gas Corridor project has developed over recent months, and how the investment and transit provisions of Energy Charter Treaty might contribute to unlocking the wide potential of several projects.

Registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
