The International Energy Charter, the World Bank Group and the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) organised a joint workshop during the World Energy Congress in Istanbul on 12 October 2016 entitled

"Stimulating energy investments in an era of low oil prices and de-carbonisation"

This event comprised of two parts: on the morning of 12 October 2016, the International Energy Charter held a session focused on "stimulating energy investments" and  in the afternoon of the same day, the ECO Secretariat held a session on "ECO Regional Electricity Market: Requirements for cross border grid connectivity and investments".
