The highly successful Rabat Energy Forum, which took place on 20-21 September 2012, was co-organised with the Moroccan Ministry of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment, under the high patronage of His Majesty the King of Morocco Mohammed VI. This event focused on the key energy issues in MENA countries and the relevance of the Energy Charter for the development of the region's energy market. The Forum brought together more than 250 high-level representatives of governments, energy companies, financial institutions, international organisations and academia from 30 countries. Participants put forward suggestions aimed at enabling the creation of a competitive integrated regional energy market in the Middle East and North Africa.
