The working group meetings were held immediately following the annual Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD) ministerial conference, held 20-21 March, which was also located in Berlin. The high-level conference - hosted by the German Federal Government in cooperation with the Renewable Energy Federation (BEE), the German Solar Association (BSW-Solar), the German Energy Agency (dena) and eclareon – convened Ministers and key international decision makers in foreign energy and energy policy, industry, science and civil society as well as foremost energy experts from all over the world. The International Energy Charter engaged in the conference discussions that were focused on how to successfully align the energy system with the targets of the Paris Climate Agreement and the UN development goals of Agenda 2030 in a cost efficient way and how to set the right framework to enable timely and sufficient investments into energy efficiency and renewable energy.
The International Energy Charter, participates in the G20 Energy Sustainability Working Group discussions
