The event, attended by the World Trade Organization (WTO), the World Energy Council, and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) among others, took place in Geneva and addressed various topics ranging from energy governance to challenges for developing countries related to energy trade governance. The Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General had very fruitful side-meetings with Mr. Ricardo Meléndez-Ortiz, Chief Executive of ICTSD, who reiterated the importance of the cooperation between his organisation and the Energy Charter Secretariat, and with Mr. Roberto Azevêdo, Director General of the WTO.
