Selim Kuneralp appointed Energy Charter Deputy Secretary General

Mr. Selim Kuneralp became Deputy Secretary General of the Energy Charter Secretariat on 1 December 2014. Mr. Kuneralp is Turkish by nationality, he did his studies at the London School of Economics.

From 2012 till the end of 2014, Mr. Kuneralp was the Head of the Permanent Delegation of Turkey to the WTO. Prior to that appointment, he was the Head of the Permanent Delegation of Turkey to the European Union. From 2010 till the end of 2013, Mr. Kuneralp was Chairman of the Energy Charter Conference.

Throughout his career he was Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Seoul (2003-2006) and to Stockholm (2000-2003).

Mr. Küneralp held various positions at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including: Deputy Undersecretary for Economic Affairs (2007-2009), Director General for Policy Planning (2006-2007), Ambassador at the Deputy Undersecretariat for Administrative Affairs (2006), Director General for the European Union (1998-2000).

Besides his mother tongue, Mr. Küneralp speaks English and French.
