Secretary General Rusnák speaks at the World PetroCoal Congress in New Delhi

The Energy Charter Secretary General Dr. Urban Rusnák participated in the 3rd World Petrocoal Congress in New Delhi on 15-16 February 2013. In his address dr. Rusnák underlined the relevance of global energy governance for India and the potential of the Energy Charter.

On the margins of the Congress, Dr. Rusnák had bilateral meetings with Mr. Claude Mandil, Chairman of the International Advisory Panel of the Global Carbon and Storage Institute (Australia) and former Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA); and Mr. Nobuo Tanaka, Global Associate for Energy Security and Sustainability at the Institute of Energy Economics (Japan), previously Executive Director of the IEA.

While in New Delhi, the Secretary General also met with Mr. Ashok Lavasa, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Power, and Mr. Vivek Rae, Secretary to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. During these meetings Dr. Rusnák raised the importance of the participation of India in the Energy Charter Process and the readiness of the Energy Charter Secretariat to develop this cooperation.
