The Ministers once again stressed the need to create a conductive enabling environment for scaling up the necessary investments in sustainable energy investments, building public-private partnerships, regional integration and cooperation and strengthening international cooperation. The importance of investment was reiterated numerous times by all Ministers and Heads of Delegations as the main tool to alleviate energy poverty, ensure energy access for all, scale up renewables and energy efficiency deployment worldwide. The Secretary General Dr. Rusnák reiterated the importance of the International Energy Charter as a conductive framework for mutually beneficial energy cooperation among nations and for promoting the international flow of investments in the energy sector. In his address to the Ministers, the Secretary General stressed once again the main objective of the Energy Charter to provide for a stable transparent legal framework at national and regional levels for attracting investments in the energy sector and the potential contribution of the Energy Charter Process and its principles for achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
