Secretary General Dr. Rusnák holds high-level meetings in Ankara

On 30 September 2014 Secretary General Dr. Rusnák met with the Minister of Energy of Turkey Mr. Taner Yildiz in Ankara.

Minister Yildiz expressed his support for the Updated Energy Charter and stressed the Charter's importance for Turkey's role as a regional energy hub and transit country. Dr. Rusnák and Minister Yildiz held a press conference after their meeting, during which the Minister commended the ongoing modernisation of the Energy Charter and stressed the importance of the organisation's expansion activities. Minister Yildiz welcomed the progress made with Palestine, Pakistan, Jordan and Tunisia.

Secretary General Rusnák also had a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss Turkey's potential role as a promoter of the Updated Energy Charter in the region, as well as among the G20 countries during its Presidency in 2015.
