Secretary General Dr Rusnák holds high-level bilateral meetings in the margins of the 5th Annual LNG Producer-Consumer Conference 2016 in Tokyo

In the margins of the 5th Annual LNG Producer-Consumer Conference 2016 in Tokyo, Japan, the Energy Charter Secretary General Dr Rusnák held a series of high-level bilateral meetings.

On Wednesday 23 November, the Secretary General met with Ms Mika Ohbayashi, the Director of the Renewable Energy Institute of Japan and discussed potential areas of mutual cooperation between the International Energy Charter and the Institute, and Mr Ihsan A. Ismaaeil, the Director General of the state-owned Iraqi South Gas Company, who confirmed Iraq’s interest to cooperate with the Energy Charter.

The following day on 24 November, he met with Mr Yosuke Takagi, the State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, Dr Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, the Honourable Minister of State of the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources of Nigeria, and the delegation of Pakistan led by Mr Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources of the Government of Pakistan together with M. Adnan Gilani, the Chief Operating Officer of Pakistan LNG Ltd.

He also held discussion with Dr Xiansheng Sun, the Secretary General of the International Energy Forum and H.E. Alfonso G. Cusi, the Secretary of Energy of the Republic of the Philippines, with whom the Secretary General discussed a deeper engagement of the Philippines in the Energy Charter Process as well as current expansion activities in the Asia-Pacific region.
