Secretary General Dr. Rusnák and Dutch Minister Kamp discuss the process towards Updated Energy Charter adoption

On 22 September 2014, the Secretary General Dr. Urban Rusnák visited The Hague to meet Mr. Henk Kamp, Minister of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands.

The process towards the adoption of an updated Energy Charter at a High-Level Conference in The Hague in spring 2015 and the promotion of the Energy Charter in non-member countries were in the centre of their discussion.

Minister Kamp commended the Secretary General for his achievements, in particular in view of the involvement of new countries and new activities to promote the Charter. He reiterated The Netherlands' support for the organisation and his personal readiness to engage in the Charter Process. Amb. Rusnák thanked Minister Kamp for his strong personal support. The Minister and the Secretary General further discussed concrete steps in view of the organisation of the High-Level Conference in The Hague, which shall bring together ministers in charge of energy from all continents of the world and give new impetus to the implementation of the Charter's principles of cooperation.
