Secretariat meets energy stakeholders in Bogota

As an intergovernmental organisation, national governments and regional economic integration organisations hold the ownership of the International Energy Charter Process. At the same time, market players are the beneficiaries of stability, predictability and attractiveness in the areas of trade, transit, investment and energy efficiency enshrined in the International Energy Charter and the Energy Charter Treaty. Moreover, international organisations and public authorities need to articulate coordinated and consistent messages in line with their core business and specific added value.

This is why, on 2-4 2016 August in Bogota, senior staff of the Energy Charter Secretariat, Mr Denis Westerhof and Mr Ernesto Bonafé met with representatives of industry, market players, regional organisations and public institutions active in Colombia and Latin America. Those meetings showed the potential synergies and collaboration with key actors and stakeholders. The entities met were:

  • Interconexión Eléctrica ISA;
  • Transportadora de Gas Internacional TGI;
  • Asociación Colombiana de Petróleos ACP;
  • Oil company COG Energy;
  • Petrocolombia;
  • Arnold & Porter;
  • Arce Rojas Consultores;
  • Procolombia;
  • Electricity and Gas Regulatory Commission CREG;
  • World Energy Council;
  • Inter-American Development Bank.
