Their presentation focused on the added value of the Energy Charter Process and, in particular, the International Energy Charter, a political declaration to be adopted in The Hague on 20 May 2015 during a Ministerial Conference hosted by the Government of The Netherlands.

In New Delhi, Secretariat Experts had meetings with officials from India's Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. During these meetings, the Secretariat delegation spoke about the Charter Process and the new International Energy Charter. Indian officials expressed interest for the Energy Charter Process, whereby an internal coordination among the different ministries involved is currently in process. The Energy Charter Secretariat confirmed its readiness to develop cooperation with the Indian government and to welcome India at the Ministerial Conference in The Hague in May.
