Michael Thomadakis appointed Chairman of the Energy Charter's Investment Group

On 20 April 2009, Dr Michael Thomadakis of Greece was appointed Chairman of the Energy Charter Investment Group following unanimous approval by the member states through 'silent procedure'.

Dr Thomadakis is currently Vice-President and Member of the Board of RAE - Greece's Regulatory Authority for Energy. He is also Elected Chairman of the Gas Working Group of the Energy Community Regulatory Board. He has extensive experience in international affairs, regulation of gas and electricity markets, long-term energy planning and management. Before joining RAE, Dr Thomadakis was responsible for the administration of DEPA's (Public Gas Corporation of Greece) gas supply contracts, development and administration of time-charter agreements for LNG transportation, he also participated in gas price negotiations and in the development of gas pricing policies.
