In its public statement released today at the Ministerial Conference on the International Energy Charter, the Charter’s Industry Advisory Panel expressed its support for the Conference participants’ commitment to promoting investment in the energy sector through a sound legal framework, regulatory stability, market confidence and availability of investment risk guarantees. The Panel encourages the accession of new countries to the Energy Charter Treaty, a legally binding international instrument giving energy investors a high level of legal security and additional avenues for resolving possible disputes.
