The first Caspian Economic Forum will take place on August 11-12 in Avaza, the national tourist zone at the Caspian Sea, Turkmenistan. This will be a high-level event inclusive of the participation of senior officials from the Caspian littoral states, investors and international organisations. The President of Turkmenistan will host the Forum.

On 04 June, 2019 the Energy Charter Industry Advisory Panel (IAP) held its 42nd meeting in Brussels, Belgium. The meeting was hosted by Dow Chemical. The IAP Brussels session was well attended by representatives of energy companies, associations, international organisations, and diplomatic representations.

On the side of the UNCITRAL Working Group III, the Energy Charter Secretariat is co-hosting an interactive discussion in order to identify synergies among international organizations working on preventing investment disputes and filling gaps, which government officials consider still need to be address.      

Twenty years ago the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT) entered into force. After the successful update of the political declaration in 2015, it is time now to reflect on the lessons learned objectives achieved and challenges ahead (in particular the potential Modernisation of the ECT)
