The Government of the Portuguese Republic, serving as the Depositary of the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT) until 2 February 2025, has confirmed the receipt of a written notification of withdrawal from the ECT from the Kingdom of Denmark on 3 September 2024. The withdrawal shall take effect on 4 September 2025.

In accordance with Article 47(3) of the ECT, investments covered by the ECT at the time of withdrawal will continue to be protected for 20 years from the withdrawal date.
