Secretary General to speak at the 10th Conference of the Global Forum on Energy Security

Today, the Secretary General of the Energy Charter Secretariat, Dr. Rusnak was giving the opening remarks at the 10th Conference of the Global Forum on Energy Security, which was hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Science, a close partner of the International Energy Charter. In his statement, Dr. Rusnak pointed out that China’s relationship with the Energy Charter Process spans well over a decade and has expanded substantially during his tenure as Secretary General.

Also China’s signature of the International Energy Charter in 2015 has been a major step for the country in light of its international energy prominence. China has pledged that it will attain carbon neutrality by 2060, which points out the new direction for China’s energy development, putting forward higher requirements for energy transition and low-carbon development.
