Secretariat highlighted key findings from the recent In-Depth Energy Efficiency Reviews during the Energy Investment Forum organised by CAREC

On 2 December 2021, the Secretariat contributed to the CAREC's Energy Investment Forum to discuss business and investment opportunities in the field of energy efficiency in the CAREC region. 

Dr Antonenko, the Head of the Energy efficiency Unit, was invited to discuss the first things needed to create a policy and social environment to implement energy efficiency measures as part of the session Practical means to achieving Energy Efficiency in Central Asia. The intervention of the Energy Efficiency Unit was based on the In-Depth energy Efficiency Reviews of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan conducted by the Secretariat in 2017-2021.

The Energy Investment Forum (EIF) is Central Asia's Flagship event to enable private investments in the energy sector. About $400 billion worth of energy sector investment is needed in the region up to 2030. The EIF was hosted by the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Chair of the Energy Charter Conference of 2020.
