The Energy Charter Secretariat has received a communication from the Kingdom of the Netherlands regarding the provisional application of the amendments to the Energy Charter Treaty adopted on 3 December 2024, the modifications in Section C of Annex NI and the changes and modifications to other Annexes approved on 3 December 2024. As previously communicated by the Secretariat, the Kingdom of the Netherlands’ withdrawal from the Energy Charter Treaty will take effect on 28 June 2025. In this regard, the Kingdom of the Netherlands has confirmed that the communication serves as a reaffirmation of the existing legal situation and does not carry any legal implications.
