On 31 May 2024, Acting Secretary-General, Ms. Atsuko Hirose, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Ambassador Faruk Kaymakci, the Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Türkiye to the European Union.  

The Ambassador and the Acting Secretary General discussed the latest developments regarding the Energy Charter Treaty.  The parties reaffirmed continued cooperation and collaboration between Türkiye and the Secretariat, particularly on the modernisation of the Treaty.
