Acting Secretary-General speaks at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum

On 12 April 2025, Acting Secretary-General, Ms. Atsuko Hirose, was invited to speak at a round-table discussion during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) on the topic of "Digital Competition in Transforming Markets."

Ms. Hirose stated that the evolution of the energy systems - which require increased digitalisation to advance connectivity and increase efficiency - is aligned with the fundamental principles of the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT), of the rule-of-law based, open and competitive regime for long term energy cooperation.

ADF, which is hosted by the Ministery of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, was attended by over 6,000 participants this year.  The participants included the Presidents, Prime Ministers and Foreign Ministers of the member states of the ECT - including the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Montenegro,  Prime Ministers of Georgia and Moldova, and Foreign Ministers of Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, among others.
