On 24 April 2025, Acting Secretary-General, Ms. Atsuko Hirose, met with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, HE Batyr Amanov, on the margins of the Turkmenistan Economy Investment Forum 2025.   

The Deputy Chairman and the Acting Secretary-General discussed the latest developments regarding the Energy Charter Treaty, in particular the amendments to the Treaty adopted at the Energy Charter Conference in December 2024.  The parties re-affirmed continued cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Secretariat going forward.
