On 3 June 2024, Acting Secretary-General, Ms. Atsuko Hirose, met with the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Orkhan Zeynalov, on the margins of the Baku Energy Forum.
Ms. Hirose expressed her congratulations on the successful conclusion of the COP29 in Baku in November 2024, and the milestone 30th anniversary of the Baku Energy Forum. The parties discussed the continued cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Energy Charter Secretariat going forward.
