On 12 May 2026, Acting Secretary General, Ms. Atsuko Hirose met the Deputy Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, HE Orkhan Zeynalov, on the margins of the Uzbekistan International Energy Forum. 

Ms. Hirose thanked the Deputy Minister for the strong support of Azerbaijan to the Energy Charter Treaty and its Secretariat, and parties discussed the continued cooperation going forward.
