On 30 April 2025, Acting Secretary-General, Ms. Atsuko Hirose, met with Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Head of the Mission to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), H.E. Mr. Vanni Xuereb, at the Embassry of Malta in Brussels.  

The Ambassador and the Acting Secretary-General discussed the latest developments regarding the Energy Charter Treaty, in particular the amendments to the Treaty adopted at the Energy Charter Conference in December 2024, and cooperation between the Republic of Malta and the Secretariat going forward.
