Students eager to learn about the International Energy Charter

On the 31 May 2017 a group of students studying International Economic Law and Policy from the University of Barcelona visited the Energy Charter Secretariat to learn more about the current trends regarding the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT). The core business issues such as cross-border trade, transit and investment protection are at the heart of specialised studies of numerous universities across the world. The Secretariat promotes the knowledge about the ECT by collaborating with academic institutions from Barcelona, Beijing, Bogota, Dundee, Groningen, Florence, London, Tehran, and Tokyo.

The international group of young students, from Colombia, Côte d’Ivoire, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Greece, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya, Russia, Switzerland, Tanzania, Ukraine, United Kingdom and Venezuela, were welcomed at the new premises of the Energy Charter Secretariat. The group was already prepared and familiar with certain facets of the ECT and showed a real interest with their questions and discussions regarding today’s global energy architecture.
