Secretary General Rusnák speaks at G20 in Beijing

On 29 and 30 June 2016, the Energy Charter Secretary General, Dr Urban Rusnák attended the second G20 Energy Ministerial Meeting in Beijing and delivered a speech echoing other participants' call for universal access to affordable, sustainable and secured energy. He highlighted the Energy Charter as an essential part of the policy toolkit to answer energy challenges identified by the COP21 consensus. He also joined Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Masakazu Hamachi in inviting interested countries to attend the 27th Meeting of the Energy Charter Conference in Tokyo in November. Dr Rusnák also met with senior officials from China, Australia, Canada, Italy, Japan and Kazakhstan in the margins of the Meeting.
