On 27 June 2016, the Energy Charter Secretary General Dr Urban Rusnák attended the 2016 Asia Energy Cooperation Forum in Chongqing, China. He met with fellow distinguished participants in the margins of the Forum and exchanged ideas on how broader international cooperation and the Energy Charter's experience in particular could benefit China's aim of setting up closer energy cooperation frameworks in the Asian region. The main topics discussed during the Forum included the implementation of the "One Belt One Road" Initiative and the pricing mechanisms of imported energy. The Forum was co-organised by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Energy Administration and the China Institute of International Affairs. The Secretary General will also attend the G20 Energy Ministerial Meeting and the Global Forum on Energy Security in Beijing later this week.
