International Energy Charter continues to build cooperation with Iran

On 31 October - 1 November 2017, the Energy Charter Secretariat conducted a Mission to Iran at the invitation of the Iranian government. Knowledge Centre Coordinator, Dr Marat TERTEROV, travelled to Iran in order to make preparations for Iran’s participation in the 28th Annual Energy Charter Conference due to be held in Ashgabad, Turkmenistan at the end of November 2017. 

The Secretariat representative also met Iranian officials in order to discuss preparation for the next session of the high level Iran International Energy Conference which is due to be held in Tehran in the first half of 2018. The Energy Charter is one of the international partners to Iran in the staging of this major conference next year. There were meetings held between the Secretariat and the Iranian Ministries of Energy, Petroleum and the state power company, TAVANIR, during this two day Mission. The Secretariat official also took the occasion of this Mission to Iran to address the 7th ANGVA (Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles Association) Annual Conference and Exhibition which Iran was hosting this year.
